Rev. Kim Magwire (she/her)
Kim received her M. Div. from Vanderbilt in 1997, was subsequently ordained in Vermont and has held standing in the Illinois Conference of the UCC ever since. She has served three churches and worked in campus ministries. Over the years she has been active at all levels of the demonination as well as being committed to ecumenical and interfaith relations. Kim is a feminist, process thinker and appreciates the works of the mystics. She enjoys time in nature, being around water and animal life of all kinds. Her family includes her husband, Dr. Aaron Newcomb, her sons, Joey & Clif as well as their cat and 3 dogs.
Molly is a Carbondale native who grew up at Church of the Good Shepherd. She graduated SIU in 2013 with a BA in Psychology and Child & Family Services. Molly makes the weekly church bulletins and maintains the website, among other office administration duties. In her spare time, Molly enjoys spending time with her family (including their two dogs), as well as hiking, foraging, and kayaking in the spectacular nature Soutern Illinois has to offer.
Jan & Dale Ritzel
Jan and Dale have been the Building and Grounds Coordinators for many years. Both have been leaders in Whole Earth practices in maintaining our church building and grounds. Dale coordinates our solar plan, as well as gives tours and lectures regarding solar power. Most recently has learned , set up and now manages our Zoom Virtual services and church education and social groups. Jan and Dale Ritzel are long time members of COGS and have volunteered many hours over the years.
